Murphy’s Law
Last night I was getting ready to glue the top plate onto the back plate/ribs. In life’s usual style, I was thrown a surprise obstacle in the form of a carbon monoxide leak! It started in the kiln room of the ceramics studio, and made its way down the entire southwest wing of the building. It was smell was strong enough to give me a headache, and we were all evacuated from that side of the school. Other than the danger of death this incident did not pose much a problem for the succes of the Triolin. But then, the fire department showed up an opened all of the external doors in that wing of the school. This is a real problem because it dramatically changed the temperature and humidity of the studio. My wood has been sitting for more than a semester, and now, the wood has to stabilize to the new climate before I can assemble the final pieces.
