Post Graduation
This past saturday I successfully graduated from the University of Michigan School of Art and Design! I walked at both the university wide ceremony, and the smaller art school one. It was a great day! At both events there was an uncanny appearance of a bird of prey. At the BIG university comencment ceremony, held in the “diag” this year, a local peregrine falcon perched no more than 20 ft away from me. I felt that this was a little odd since it was in the middle of a crowed more than 10,000 strong. Later, at the art school ceremony, a red tail hawk caught a dove and started eating it on a branch just outside the reception. I love seeing these birds around Ann Arbor, so I take it as a sign of good luck for the future.
I am currently working on writing 40 some thank you cards. I just finished a file for the laser cutter, which will be given as a gift along with the cards. I am going to try cutting this pattern out of some maple veneer tomorrow morning.
