Project Update 01/21/09 (Papercraft)
The year is going well. I have a few piad projects on my plate and I am still developing a few things on my own time. The first attempt of making a sewn veneer form was a failure. An aesthetic failure that exposed a ton of structural factors that I had not considered.
The veneer tends to crack when the grain is short. I have a few solutions in mind, including steam bending each piece before sewing them together.
Here is a picture of the unfinished veneer form next to its paper counterpart.
