It is strung up with D’Addario Pro-Arte Classical Guitar strings and tuned to A D G C E A. This tuning is like a standard guitar with a capo at the fifth fret.

When I first strung it up the bass response was very flimsy. To solve the problem I added a bass bar and sounds post (not pictured) like on a violin. Surprisingly, it worked! The bass bar brought out more low tones and the sound post dramatically increased the instrument’s volume.
