My First Character Animation
Last week at the University of Michigan College of Engineering Reconfigurable Factory Systems, where I work as a research assistant on a virtual reality project, I created a short animation of a factory worker assembling an arbitrary part. The project was my very first attempt at any kind of character animation. The animation is still at a somewhat rough level of detail, and there are definitely things that need to be improved upon, but it isn’t too bad for a first try. This is also my first serious attempt at rigging a model of a human. The modeling was done using MakeHuman and Blender 3D; rigging, animation, lighting, and rendering was completed in Blender 3D; textures were created in Adobe Photoshop.
