Alex Sobolev is a designer based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, whose work explores the relationship between traditional handmade crafts and contemporary digital manufacturing tools and technology. His current focus is on two independent projects: the application of new material processes and design techniques to dress design and fabrication; and a collaborative venture to develop a next generation electric violin.
